  17. <p>A home test could help curb heart disease, the No. 1 killer

  19. <p>     Worried about your cholesterol but too lazy to see a doctor?
  20. Help is on the way. The Food and Drug Administration has
  21. approved the first home-test kit for cholesterol. Made by
  22. ChemTrak Inc. of Sunnyvale, California, and expected to sell
  23. for $10 to $15, the simple-to-use kit gives a reading within 15
  24. minutes that is as accurate as those made by doctors and
  25. laboratories.

  27. <p>     Federal health officials hope that the kit will push more
  28. people into doing something about high cholesterol, a risk
  29. factor in heart disease. A report in the Journal of the
  30. American Medical Association indicates that more than two-thirds
  31. of Americans with high cholesterol are not receiving treatment.
